The DX Commander is an extremely popular HF vertical antenna and for good reason. It is easy to build and more importantly, it performs extremely well. It covers the entire bands of 40 thru 6 meters and you don’t even need a tuner to cover the entire band with the exception of 10 and 6 meters but that is a tough challenge for any antenna. You can even configure it to do 80 meters with a longer wire but you will need to support the far end of it. Also, 80 meters cannot cover the entire band so you have to pick a segment you want to use. The DX Commander is comprised of a 30′ carbon fiber mast and some other very well made parts along with some great quality wire. If you are space constrained (Like I am), you simply cannot go wrong with the DX Commander.
